About Engineers Without Borders-USA
EWB-USA partners with developing communities around the world to improve their quality of life through implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects, while providing training and experience to internationally responsible students and professionals.
International Voluntary Service Activities
EWB-USA is currently partnering with communities in the developing world on over 300 projects involving water, sanitation, energy, and community structures. Our rapidly growing membership exceeds 11,000 students and professionals, and these volunteers work throughout the year to maintain communication with the host communities, assess needs, design and implement engineering solutions, and ensure that the projects continue to be used and maintained by the community.

Profile Summary |
|
EWB-USA welcomes both professional and student volunteers. Professional volunteers can range in age from 25 to 65, typically an engineering degree, capable of field projects. Experience in communications, public health, medicine or related fields also helpful. Students are typically studying engineering, public health, international studies, or related fields, and are interested in humanitarian work. While teams of 2-8 volunteers travel to assess and/or implement projects, we need many more volunteers to assist with design, planning, prototype construction and other needs.
