About Global Service Corps

Join Global Service Corps (GSC) for a life changing volunteer, internship or fellowship experience in Tanzania or Thailand. As a registered U.S. 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, GSC has become a leader in the field of international volunteerism by designing and implementing effective community development volunteer service-learning programs since 1992.

International Voluntary Service Activities

Volunteer Vacations and Community training programs are offered year round. Community training programs are available from two weeks to one year, in HIV/AIDS education and prevention, sustainable agriculture and food security, international public health, cultural immersion, orphanage care, and English education. Through the development of these community training programs, GSC has also attained NGO status and become recognized as a respected international development organization.

All GSC programs begin with orientation and training by local and/or expatriate staff to prepare volunteers for their projects and provide them with the needed tools for success. GSC service-learning volunteers, interns and fellows have the opportunity to become integrated into their new communities through interaction with their local host families and counterparts who welcome the opportunity to share their homes and cultures. With a complete in-country staff, GSC tailors its projects to provide both maximum benefits to the community and an unforgettable experience for the volunteers.

The volunteer vacation programs are particularly suited for those who are new to international volunteering and are looking for a flexible, cost effective initial volunteer experience overseas. GSC volunteer vacations are a great way to have a rich cross-cultural experience, while still giving back to the local community. Less intensive, more flexible, and with weekly start dates, a GSC volunteer vacation is a great introduction to the world of international volunteerism.

Volunteer Profile Summary
Global Service Corps volunteers are both independent and flexible in the execution of their work. Initiative, flexibility and creativity are keys to its success. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age for Tanzania and Thailand programs. Volunteers in Tanzania may need to walk long distances. All nationalities are welcome and proficiency in English is required. In addition to the above, volunteers in Thailand programs must be interested in teaching English as a second language.
