About Global Brigades

Global Brigades is a secular charitable organization that empowers students and professional volunteers to provide communities in developing nations with sustainable solutions that improve quality of life while respecting local culture. Our vision is to become the largest student-led social movement on the planet.

In 2007, nearly 1,000 of our volunteers from more than 50 university campuses, delivered health care and micro enterprise solutions to nearly 40,000 people in Central America.

International Voluntary Service Activities

Global Brigades has three programs that synergistically create a holistic approach to sustainable development. Currently, in the 45 communities in Central America in which we provide services, we offer micro-enterprise assistance, health care relief, and clean water initiatives.

In 2009-2010, we hope to launch Architecture Brigades, Education Brigades and Legal Brigades. If you are interested in helping any of these initiatives, please contact us.
