About Haitian Health Foundation
Provides public health and clinic-based outreach to 200,000
people in 104 villages:
- perinatal, newborn, and well-baby care
- vitamin distribution
- disease management
- diabetic, eye, and dental care
HHF constructed the Maternal Waiting Home for at-risk mothers
and Kwashiorkor Treatment Center. HHF also administers a family
sponsorship program (including tuition for 1,300 school children),
a feeding and educational pavilion for 1,400 perinatal women and
malnourished children, and development activities such as animal
distribution and house and latrine construction. Visiting health
professionals from the United States, Canada, and Europe volunteer
to provide cleft lip surgery, up-to-date training for health staff,
and other services. HHF's board of directors administers the foundation.
International Voluntary Service Activities
Volunteers are welcome to provide health care, carpentry, and
electrical skills.
