Water For People is an international nonprofit organization that helps people in developing countries build and maintain safe drinking water sources and improved sanitation systems. Water For People is the charity of choice of the North American water community. It ensures sustainability through training, education, and community development. Water For People is working in Latin America, Africa and Asia, primarily in rural areas, but also in some urban poor areas. It also provides technical assistance to strengthen local governments' and utilities' ability to serve their citizens.
Water For People recruits volunteers for fundraising, raising awareness and monitoring and evaluation of installed systems.

Water For People has provided volunteers with expertise that spans the water industry from water operator experience on how to operate large treatment facilities, to communications experts who help utilities to improve customer service and public relations, to water management experience on how to manage a multi-faceted water plant, to planners on how to do strategic and environmental planning. Water For People volunteers have volunteered abroad for 1 - 3 weeks to carry out assessments, training, evaluations, and other forms of technical assistance. |
