About Wings of the Dawn

Wings of the Dawn International Institute for Children (WOD) focuses on directly assisting schools and libraries in Africa, primarily by making books and education enrichment materials available to the young people of these countries in the language used in their classrooms. A 501(c)(3) charitable organization headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, WOD collects, transports educational materials and supplies to school children, libraries and community centers in rural and sub-urban African countries. WOD Adopt a School Project foster relationships between African and American students, teachers and administrators, to continue to encourage lifelong reading and learning habits among the African Children. WOD is an all volunteered agency with no employee payroll. More than 92% of receipts are expended directly for projects. WOD welcomes like-minded people to join them in these projects and to commence similar projects in other countries.

Wings of the Dawn is interested in educational professionals to support schools, libraries and resource centers in rural and sub urban African communities in Gambia, Nigeria and Mozambique. Professionals interested in this opportunity should have the skill set to help train teachers, librarians and assist in the development of effective library program that can be utilized in elementary and secondary level.
